95% Week

Rather than try and tackle a whole new project, days before Christmas and Winter break, I’m using this week to finish two of our unfinished rooms. To most people, our gym and primary bathroom look complete but there are a few things left to do and the type A in me sees them every time I’m in either 😂

Primary bathroom

This room has three different metals/finishes; chrome, brass, and matte black. I love to mix and match but the chrome the house came with isn’t working for me. The plan is to spray paint the faucet, side mirror, and shower hardware matte black and keep the rest brass. I painted our guest bathroom faucet last March and it’s held up phenomenally- it looks like I painted it yesterday. Plus, I saved $$$ not buying new hardware!

In addition to hardware, I’m swapping out our light for one that fits the room’s vibe better, fixing our toilet paper holder I’ve installed incorrectly three times, and finally a long-term, temporary (is this a thing?😂) solution for the tile I have loathed since we moved in!

Gym

I’ve added paint, peel and stick wallpaper, furniture, and mood lighting to our gym but the ceiling hasn’t been touched. I just hate the look of it. At one point I was going to staple bed sheets to the exposed joists but I thought that would look terrible. Then I considered securing black foam core to them, even installing drywall, but the issue I kept running into was the resulting ceiling height. I use a rebounder to workout so I need all the height I can get for bouncing. So, I’ve decided I’m going to paint it all. Wish me, and my neck, luck…

I’m also adding some hooks by the floating shelf to hold towels, my tube band, etc. and I’ve chosen what’s going on that lonely wall to the right of the door, you are going to LOVE it!
